Building simulators for operator training and for virtual prototyping is a rapidly expanding field with applications both in commercial industries and education. Modern computational capabilities allow for increasingly more complex systems to be simulated in real time and visualized in realistic animation environments. Simulator training reduces operational risk and prepares operators for possible and impossible scenarios. Simulation also has become an important tool in engineering and design processes, to test and optimize new designs and prototypes. This track aims to highlight the use of mathematical models in a physical context to obtain realistic scenarios of environments where people work and interact. The track will offer a forum for people interested in modeling and simulation in the training of professional operators and engineers, and also in the building of realistic environments for testing and prototyping.
