This multidisciplinary track provides a context for academic and industrial scientists to address, explore and exchange cutting-edge research and results in the modelling and simulation of industrial, business and service systems and processes. With an increasingly global view of applied research, the aims of the track are to promote the integration and enhance the transferability of techniques and knowledge among these complementary areas of research.

Topics include (but are not limited to) new developments in the areas of:

  • Modelling and Simulation of Industrial Systems and Processes; Planning, Scheduling and Control of Industrial Processes, Resources and Services; Advanced Modelling and Simulation Techniques for Distributed Systems and Operations, Supply and Service Chain Planning and Management; Intelligent Decision Support Systems and Optimisation Tools for Industrial Design, Layout, Maintenance and Operation.

  • Simulation Tools and Modelling Techniques for Operations Research, Project Management and Control, Risk Management, Workflow Management, Management of Technological and Organisational Change, Concurrent Engineering, and Re-Engineering.

  • Modelling and Simulation of Business Processes in the Private and Public Sectors; Knowledge Discovery and AI techniques for Business Intelligence; Knowledge Management Systems for Resources and Customer Relations Management; e-Business and Information Systems for the Extended Enterprise.

  • Modelling and Simulation of the Service Value Chain, Service Chain Planning and Management Tools; Information Systems for Business Services, Financial Services, Public Services, Government Organizations, and Municipalities.

  • Modelling and simulation of business and non-profit organizations, especially in the areas of strategy, organization, leadership, entrepreneurship, and marketing.
