Motivation

Artificial Intelligence and Simulation are timely and attractive topics requiring the interaction of interdisciplinary techniques. Both simulation and artificial intelligence are concerned with the development of models of the real world. Current developments in hardware and software technologies make simulation systems more powerful, efficient and not expensive in variety of applications from industry to military analysis. Enriching with artificial intelligence capabilities will make simulation models more reliable, realistic, comprehensible and acceptable. Since mid-70's many attempts to use artificial intelligence in order to benefit simulation (and vice versa) have been successfully made. It is now obvious that combining these two technologies could benefit computer science and could help to overcome weaknesses of each of them and create better performing systems.

The objective of this track is to bring together people from different disciplines involved in theoretical and practical aspects of simulation and artificial intelligence in order to create a discussion forum and review the present state of the art.

The program committee therefore invites innovative applications that combine features of simulation and artificial intelligence. Topics to be discussed are not limited but may include theoretical and practical applications of simulation and AI.
