CONFERENCE AIM
In 1996 the SCS European Simulation Symposium has already taken place in Budapest. This conference traditionally brings the experts in Operation Research, Mathematical Modeling and Simulation from Western-, Central- and Eastern Europe together, with many papers from other places of the world as well. Specialty of this conference is that in addition to the traditional themes (Methodologies, Software, Applications in Business and Technology), separate sections are dedicated to Microsimulation and Alternative Approaches in Simulation Technique.

The host city of ESS 2004, Budapest is not only a town with a four-thousand-year old history, but also the cultural and educational centre of Hungary.
