EduSof: THE FRAMEWORK FOR INTELLIGENT TUTORING SYSTEM DESIGN PROCESS

ABSTRACT

In the Institute of Mathematics, University of Novi Sad, a general-purpose educational software package EduSof, has been recently developed (Jerini 1993; Jerini 1994). Its basic elements enable the process of creating and using the basic educational sequences - lessons. Also, EduSof could be used for testing the acquired knowledge.

The present article describes the definition and realization of the knowledge base for EduSof, based on the generalized frames technique. The knowledge base is realized by object-oriented technique of designing intelligent systems with multimedia characteristics.


BIOGRAPHY

Ljubomir Jerinic is a teaching assistant and researcher in the Computer ScienceDepartment, Institute of Mathematics, University of Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. He received B. Sc. and M. Sc. in computer science from University of Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. He has completed his Ph. D. thesis in the field of Intelligent Tutoring Systems. His scientific interests are in artificial intelligence. He published more than 50 scientific and popular papers, and he is the author and co-author more then 100 programinng packages for industry and other users.
