Abstract:

A nonlinear, dimensionless model for the curing in situ of rubber elements is presented and analyzed. This results in a coupled nonlinear differential equations system. To solve it, we pose a semi-implicit linearized FEM model and implement it using the finite element toolbox ALBERTA. We test the implementation in the two numerical case of a rubber bladder, giving numerical results and an analysis of the performance.
