Abstract:

In this contribution, we are dealing with the problem of on-demand interfacing agent-based simulations with Vir- tual Reality (VR) systems. We focus on how to handle and relate information between the two systems and inves- tigate a generic way for mapping the information which describes the state and context of a simulated agent to its 3D counterpart in the VR system. We provide de- tails about the issues involved as well as propose generic representations and procedures that cope with the gran- ularity discrepancies between the two systems. Finally, we present a first prototype and discuss aspects of its performance.
