Abstract: |
A
wireless sensors network to monitor the radiation level of radioactive
contaminated risk areas is proposed in this paper. An experimental, low
power, low cost wireless device, designed to collect and transmit radiation
measurements data from radioactive waste dumps to servers was realized and
tested. It becomes active and transmits information only when a given level
of radiation is exceeded, offering the advantage of a
reduced power consumption. The
data transmission was simulated in a mesh network. For the performance
analysis was used the discrete event network simulator Qualnet 5.01 version,
AODV and OLSR routing protocols being considered for the comparison purpose. |
