Simulation and Computational Neuroscience (Neurosim)

Understanding how the nervous system processes information is a challenge that has attracted people from many different disciplines. In particular, theoretical approaches from physics, computer science and mathematics have been very fruitful in recent years in modeling neural computation at an abstract level, in explaining specific experimental observation as well as for developing novel methods for analyzing neural data. This tracks aims to gather contributions aiming at these goals. Example areas of particular interest are

  •  Networks models of memory formation and processing

  •  Computational models of spatial navigation

  •  Visual information processing

  •  Dynamics of large spiking neuronal networks

  •  Statistical analysis of multi-electrode recordings, LFP and EEG
