THE CONFERENCE VENUE



VENUE

Erlangen is a city with 100.000 inhabitants 20miles away from Nuremberg. Erlangen hosts the SIEMENS Research Center and a well known university with ca. 36.000 students. The Symposium will be held at the university in one of the buildings directly in the center of the city. The International airport of Nuremberg is only 6 miles away from the center of Erlangen.

The ESS'99 location will be in the Kollegienhaus of the Friedrich-Alexander University , Universitaetstrasse, Erlangen. Information in the above links is in German; English versions are available if you click on the Union Jack

The parallel sessions will be held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. The registration desk will be placed in the hallway close to these lecture rooms

HOW TO GET THERE

by plane: Nuremberg Airport lies just in between Nuremberg and Erlangen. You can take a taxi into Erlangen. Distance 13 Km. Fare should be about 25 EURO.

by train: There are frequent connections between Nuremberg Station and Erlangen station. The station is located in the centre of town. it's a 3 minute walk to the University. If you want to check on train connections.

by car:Driving on the Autobahn A9, Frankfurt Munich, take the exit Tennenlohe, Follow the signs into the Erlangen Centrum.

on foot:The conference venue is in the centre of Erlangen, near the main market square, easily reachable by foot from any hotel in Erlangen.
