Abstract:
The problem of
integration of motion equations under given initial conditions of design models
of multi-storey buildings is considered. In contrast to the generally accepted
approaches, the equations of motion are formulated in absolute coordinates,
which makes it possible to naturally consider the asynchronous excitation of
the supports during seismic action. For the numerical solution of the problem,
the finite element method is used, and the numerical integration of this Cauchy
problem is carried out by the alpha-HHT method. The specific algorithms have
been developed for the implementation of proposed approaches on the CPU as well
as on the GPU and are oriented on shared memory multicore computers. The main
attention is focused on comparing the performance of mentioned algorithms on
real-life problems.
